A 99th GRE percentile score, for example, means you scored better than 99% of test-takers, and you're in the top 1%! Once you have been assigned a scaled score, calculating the percentile score is simply a matter of arranging scores of all your peers in ascending order and finding what percentage of candidates are below your position.

The verbal reasoning score. These scores have been converted from a GRE raw score (known as the GRE raw score conversion). For the GRE Quant section, this score ranges from 133 to 170. A Verbal score of 155 puts you in the 68th percentile, but the same score in Quant is in the 56th percentile. The GMAT is scored from 200-800, while each GRE section score falls between 130 and 170. This can range from 0-6 in half-point increment. A 50th GRE percentile score means you scored right in the middle—an average score. c. The analytical writing score.

Your GRE scores are in relatively low percentiles, with your Verbal score below the 50th percentile, and your QUant score in the low 60s for percentile.

So on the strength of your GRE score alone, you probably couldn’t get into a top 50 college.

Does it matter? Average (Mean) GRE score for Verbal reasoning is 150.0(rounded to 1 decimal place), average GRE Score for Quant reasoning is 152.6 and that of Analytical writing skills is 3.5. For the Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning, the score range is 130 – 170.
